These mixed media collages are created through a process of layering various objects and waxes. The mutations in color and opacity are somewhat unpredictable. I try to encourage accidental surprises—while simultaneously struggling to maintain control over the nearly-impossible-to-control medium of hot wax.

Underpinning this work is my interest in consumerism and its byproduct, packaging. The physical and ideological concept of packaging, with its many possibilities of interpretation leads me to think of the stuff we cast off, misleading facades and the pervasiveness of advertising in our culture

Note:
Each work in this series contains a portion or the entirety of a used cardboard box.
